Incontinence Impact Questionnaire
and Urogenital Distress Inventory

Survey Instruments to Assess Impact of
Urinary Incontinence on Women's Lives
Women’s Health Center of Excellence for Research, Leadership, Education (WHCoE) researchers helped develop and validate two survey instruments for collecting detailed data on how urinary incontinence affects women's lives.
The Incontinence Impact Questionnaire (IIQ) measures the impact of urinary incontinence on activities, roles, and emotional states. The Urogenital Distress Inventory (UDI) measures how troubling the symptoms are to women.
