Announcing the Launch of AHA's Improved Instructor Network

June 25, 2007

Look for changes beginning June 30
When you visit the AHA Instructor Network, we want your interaction to be easy, engaging, and most importantly, we want you to get the information you need to do your job as an American Heart Association Instructor or Training Center Coordinator.

To find out how the network was working for you, we sat down with several Instructors and Training Center Coordinators as they navigated the network. In addition, we've received feedback from you at several professional and AHA meetings. We listened to your feedback, concerns, and even frustrations, and concluded that some major changes were in order.

So what's different, new, and improved? Here are a few of the key changes we've made to ensure that your experience with the AHA Instructor Network is the most satisfying online engagement you have with the AHA.

New Look
The first thing you'll notice is the new look of the site. We've removed the Flash and Movie sections from the head to create a cleaner, less distracting look.

New Organization/Navigation
We've made the site much easier to navigate and find the information you need by:

  • Renaming and consolidating each content area, and adding a summary of information included in each area
  • Reviewing and refreshing all content with the most updated, relevant information
  • Organizing all content by discipline: BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • Limiting the number of links under each content area on the home page to the 3 most recent additions
  • Where possible, eliminating the need to download documents

Improved Customer Service
We've added more customer service representatives to help Training Center Coordinators with administrative tasks. We also improved our "self-help" tools such as password resets and enhanced frequently asked questions.

Faster Registration
We moved the required registration fields to the first two pages of the registration section to shorten registration time.

Other New Features

  • More user-friendly Sign In and Sign Up sections
  • A "Print" button on each screen that gives you a printer-friendly version of the information
  • Adjustable font sizes for easier reading
  • Site expands to fit the size of your computer monitor

We hope you enjoy the new and improved AHA Instructor Network and we look forward to continuing to serve you!

KEEPING COMMUNICATIONS FLOWING

One of the primary roles of the Training Center is to provide communications regarding anything dealing with ECC and AHA to the Training Network.  It is very important that changes to contact information such as, email addresses, phone #s, fax #s, and mailing addresses be communicated immediately to the Training Center so as not to create gaps in communications that you receive from us.
