History
The J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation is a state-of-the-art geriatric clinical and research center which combines the resources of the Department of Psychiatry, the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, and the Section on Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine of the Department of Internal Medicine. The Center was named in honor of its benefactor J. Paul Sticht, who contributed the funding to establish the Center. This $40 million facility opened in 1997 and is the first facility in the world to incorporate geriatric acute care, transitional care, psychiatry, rehabilitation, and clinical research under one roof. |
Sticht’s Passing Is Mourned As His Generosity Is Celebrated
J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation is the result of a gift from noted Winston-Salem businessman, J. Paul Sticht, who passed away at the Center in March 2007.
