Since many physiological functions change solely as a function of the sleeping state and many disorders are specifically induced by sleep, assessment may involve the central nervous system, respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and/or endocrine function.
Our multi-disciplinary staff includes experts in cardiology, neurology, orthodontics, otolaryngology, psychiatry, pulmonary, as well as polysomnographic technologists and nursing specialists. Physicians at the center can provide physical examinations as well as diagnostic tests including nocturnal polysomnographic studies (NPSG) and nap studies or multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT). Staff members also collaborate with experts in neuropsychology, urology, neonatology, pediatrics, clinical psychology and internal medicine.
Nocturnal polysomnographic studies are performed from 9 p.m. until 7 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Our specialized, state-of-the art Sleep Disorders Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for interpretation of studies, MSLT testing and scheduling.
