Neuroscience Services

Medical Center physicians specialize in diagnosing and treating a broad range of medical and surgical problems including brain and nerve disorders, stroke, epilepsy and dementia, with a national reputation in the treatment of disorders of the spine.

Rehabilitation

The Medical Center's CompRehab™ rehabilitation services help patients reach their highest level of function. Outpatient services are consolidated in one facility, allowing patients to get coordinated care. The new J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation offers a multidisciplinary approach to inpatient care. It includes a special unit for patients with brain injuries as well as subacute treatment for patients who can benefit from rehab but aren't strong enough for an intensive program.

Transplant Services

The Medical Center's kidney transplant program is one of the largest in the state. Our program also includes pediatric and adult heart transplants, autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplants, pancreas transplants and corneal transplants. Carolina LifeCare, the organ and tissue donor program for 25 counties in midwestern North Carolina, is based at The Medical Center.
