Current Fellows and Graduate Students

The Center for Diabetes Research takes a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the genetic basis of type 2 diabetes and diabetes associated complications. Students in the center are recruited from multiple programs, including Biochemistry, Molecular Genetics and Molecular Medicine and Translational Science, creating a collaborative and productive environment. Evidence of our productivity and importance of our research is demonstrated in the number of our peer-reviewed manuscripts published in top tier journals. The ultimate goal of our research is to obtain knowledge that will provide novel insights into understanding the complex mechanisms involved in T2DM susceptibility and diabetes associated complications; motivating additional research to understand these findings and identification of potential treatment targets.
