Hand Center
Services Provided
The Hand Center team utilizes advanced surgical techniques and therapeutic interventions to maximize restoration of function in individuals with injured and diseased upper extremities. Patients typically seen in the Hand Center include those who have upper extremity trauma, such as crush injuries and fractures; cumulative trauma, such as rotator cuff tendon injuries, tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome; natural disease processes, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis; and congenital anomalies. The Hand Center, which is located at CompRehab Plaza, is an integral component of the recovery process for these individuals.
The patient who has been referred to the program will receive a thorough evaluation, and an individualized treatment program will be established. Much of the program, which includes educating the patient about their diagnosis, will involve hands-on, one-on-one treatment.
A variety of services are offered in hand therapy including:
Splinting - customized static and dynamic
Wound care/scar remodeling
Sensory re-education and desensitization
Customized home programs
