Hand Center
First in the Triad
The Hand Center team utilizes advanced surgical techniques and therapeutic interventions to help individuals with injured or diseased upper extremities regain the required function for activities of daily life. Patients typically seen in the Hand Center include those who have upper extremity trauma, such as crush injuries and fractures; cumulative trauma, such as tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome; natural disease processes, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis; and congenital anomalies. Hand therapy is an integral component of the recovery process for these individuals. After comprehensive evaluation, the hand therapist will educate the patient on his particular problem and different treatment options. Treatment may include wound care and scar management, customized static and dynamic splinting, sensory re-education, desensitization and customized home programs.
