Each year, during the third week in September, thousands of rehabilitation providers and health and human services agencies join together to celebrate the powers of rehabilitation and share the message that through rehab there is hope, achievement and success.
As part of the National Rehabilitation Awareness Week Celebration, September 21-27, 2008, Rehabilitation Services at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center is hosting a 26th Annual Rehab Reunion for former patients and their families. This annual celebration is designed to promote the value of rehabilitation; highlight the capabilities of people with disabilities; and honor professionals who work with persons with disabilities.
The 26th annual rehab reunion will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 from 4-6 p.m. in the Sticht Center auditorium located on the first floor of the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation. Former patients and their families will have the opportunity to celebrate their own personal successes and capabilities with members of their rehabilitation team and interact with other former rehab patients. Music, door prizes and activities will be offered at the event and refreshments will be served.
Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center provides both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. Inpatient rehabilitation services are provided on the third floor of the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation and outpatient rehabilitation services are provided at Comprehab Plaza. Wake Forest Baptist has been providing acute inpatient rehabilitation services since 1975 and began offering an Acquired Brain Injury Program in 1997. This is our 26th annual rehab reunion.
