Clinical Services in Mind-Body Medicine

 


Hypnosis is available through Dr. Michael Coates in the Family Medicine department or through Jeff Feldman, Ph.D. in the Neuropsychology Section of the Neurology Department.

The Cancer Patient Support Services program offers:

-

Guided imagery audio recordings for cancer patients (specific to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, bone marrow transplant).

-

Instruction in relaxation and diaphragmatic breathing.

 The Functional Restoration program offers:

An interdisciplinary approach for chronic pain patients integrating medical, psychological, nursing, and physical therapy services into a progressive physical reconditioning approach.   The program includes a daily education class and coping skills group in which relaxation and self hypnosis is taught.  Daily stretching often includes modified Yoga instruction
