Outside Consultations:
Neuropathology: Neurosurgical specimens, muscle biopsies, peripheral nerve biopsies and autopsy CNS material are processed by the Neuropathology Laboratory (336) 716-2682. Dr. Constance Stanton is responsible for the coverage of this laboratory and is available to answer any questions.
Muscle Biopsies are processed by the Neuropathology Laboratory.
Special attention is needed as all biopsies (fresh, not fixed) must be rapid-frozen within 1/2 hour after excision. Biopsies must be in the laboratory by 3:00 PM. The Neuropathology lab technicians should be notified that a biopsy is scheduled.
Call (336) 716-2682 to arrange to have the fresh specimen picked up.
Request Forms:
The revised AP/Surgical Pathology Request Form is available online in Adobe® Acrobat® format (.pdf files). They can be completed onscreen and printed out, or they can be printed out blank and completed by hand. |
