Open the Door to Developing Your Gifts in Ministry
Residencies: Ten one-year residency positions in CPE are filled each year. A residency consists of three units of CPE while serving as a chaplain in the medical center, with a full curriculum under the supervision of a faculty of seven CPE supervisors. The residency positions pay a stipend, and include health care and other excellent benefits. The residency position begins at the end of August each year. Three-year residencies in Supervisory CPE are also offered.
Hospital-Based CPE Quarters: A 10-week program of hospital-based CPE is offered each summer and at least one time during the year. Summer programs typically run from early June to early August, a good time for seminarians and others to do a unit of CPE. These non-stipended quarters are full-time for the 10-11 weeks they run. For more information, contact Rev. Calvin Runnels at the addresses, phone, or fax listed below.
Congregation-Based CPE: CPE is also offered for ministers in local congregations. These units focus on the minister's work in the local congregation, while providing a peer group, supervision, and didactic instruction for professional development.
