Laboratory Purpose:
The purpose of this facility is to provide electron microscopic capabilities dedicated to research projects and graduate teaching endeavors, combined with facilities for thin-sectioning and printing of electron micrographs. Electron micrograph negatives can also be scanned and the digital images assessed with the state-of-the-art Image Analysis capabilities of the Imaging Core.

Use of this core facility is open to all members of the Center for Investigative Neuroscience, as well as other faculty in the institution. Use of the facilities is on a first-come-first-serve basis, and must be scheduled in advance with the laboratory supervisor. Users purchase their own consumable supplies (i.e. film, dark room chemicals, and photographic paper) and fees based on service contract costs will be shared yearly by all users apportioned according to use.
