Support Groups

There are several support groups affiliated with the Jim "Catfish" Hunter chapter of the ALS Association.

Northwest Piedmont Support Group

This support group, associated with the ALS Center of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, provides a service to ALS patients as well as family members and friends. At these sessions, current topics and information specific to ALS patients are discussed. ALS patients and caregivers can discuss their feelings with others experiencing similar situations. Friendships are made and love and support are shared.

 


Support group meetings provide an outlet for
patients, family members, friends and caregivers
to discuss their feelings and concerns about ALS.

When: The third Sunday of every month from 2 to 4 pm. Meetings for ALS patients, family members, and friends are held in January, March, May, July, September and November. Meetings for caregivers and friends are held in February, April, June, August, October and December.

Where: Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons, NC . Traveling Interstate 40, exit at Clemmons. Travel north to Peacehaven Road and turn right. Take the next right turn at Kinnamon Rd.; the church is on the right. Total distance from I-40 to church is 0.8 mile.
