Title: PROGENI (Parkinson’s Research: The Organized Genetics Initiative)
Principal Investigator: Francis Walker, M.D.
The purpose of this project is to study genetic and other risk factors within families that may be important in the development of Parkinson's disease and to increase the knowledge of Parkinson disease molecular mechanisms. Only a one time visit will be involved for this study during which clinical information will be collected and blood will be obtained in order to extract DNA. The DNA samples for this study will be used in an attempt to find genes that may cause an increased risk for a person to develop Parkinson's disease.
Inclusion Criteria: Pairs of siblings (brothers/sisters) affected or possibly affected with Parkinson's disease
