Born and raised in China, Dr. Guo graduated from the Shandong University with a major in Biology. Dr. Guo came to the United States for graduate study and obtained his PhD degree in Pharmaceutic Sciences from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Guo stayed in Lexington, Kentucky for his medical education and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Dr. Guo completed his internship and residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Virginia, where he served as the Chief Resident. He went on to receive his fellowship training in Pain Management in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia. Dr. Guo joined the faculty, as Assistant Professor, at the Wake Forest University Department of Neurology in 2006. As an Interventional Physiatrist, Dr. Guo’s primary clinic interest includes treatments of pain and other associated symptoms in the neck, back and extremities with epidural injections, joint injections, nerve blocks, denervation, etc. In addition, he contributes to the in-patient care in the rehabilitation hospital. Dr. Guo enjoys educating and training medical students and residents in interventional physiatry and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Outside the hospital, Dr. Guo enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons. They enjoy sports, movies/shows, traveling and having fun with friends
