Deborah Kirby ('07 Resident/'08 Fellow) and Ned Cain, were married on October 12, 2007 at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC. Deborah is staying at WFUSM to do a fellowship in EMG.

Eric Pitts, MD (Fellow 2007) and Martin Brown, MD (Fellow 2007) scored in the top 10% on the EMG In-service and residents: Coy Miller, MD (Peds Neurology 2008), Deborah Kirby, MD (2007), Kara Eickman, MD (2008), Mary Campagna-Gibson, MD (2008) and Aaron Miller, MD (2008) all scored in the top 25%! The scores are adjusted for level of training so they are truly compared to their peers. Good job and congratulations!

A Farewell Picnic was help at Tanglewood in June, 2007, and we had a showcase of Neurology Babies! Participating in the baby parade was Mary Campagna-Gibson's son, Luke Arthur Gibson; born May 17, 2006; Lollie Hagen's daughter Lucy Louise, born on August 24, 2006; Han Greiner's son, Luke Cannon Greiner, born September 19, 2006; Coy Miller's daughter, Campbell Caroline, born December 7, 2006; Lee Kennedy's son, Sawyer James, born on December 30, 2006; Tim Braden's son, Jacob Johnson, born May 1, 2007; and the newest (1 week old) Mitch Isaac's son, Charles Mitchell, born May 28, 2007. There was no limit to the cooing. We really had a baby boom and it continues!

Kelly Ybema (’05 Fellow) has moved back to Michigan, and she brought Chuck and Chip with her. Kelly will be starting a private practice job, while Chuck works with Chip on his future as a southpaw pitcher.
- Cecile (’04 Resident/ ’05 Fellow), Joshua, and Mathijs Becker have packed up and moved to a house on the lake in Springfield, IL. Cecile is joining a busy practice and already looking forward to spending time on her pontoon boat.

- It was fierce competition, but the Different Strokes (Drs. Lefkowitz, Bettermann, and Cartwright) defeated Hagen’s Heros (Dr.s Donofrio, Bell, and Hagen) in the 2005 Neurobowl.
- Mike (’06) and Sarah Cartwright had their first child, Adam, on March 11th, 2005. Adam passed his initial neurologic exams with flying colors, and he is now working on sitting and causing trouble. Following his MDA Clinical Research Training Fellowship ('07) with a focus in Neuromuscular Disease at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, he has become a member of our faculty .
- After completing his pediatric neurology residency, Raymund David (‘05) has begun work in Sioux Falls, SD. We all hope he can deal with the climate change, especially the winters.
- Jon Kerrick (’05) has received a bunch of good news recently. He and his wife Kim just had their first child, Mason. Jon also accepted a position in Georgia, so Mason will be close to his grandparents.
- Misty Sinclair (’05) has started a private practice position in Pinehurst, NC. Dr. Donofrio is very jealous of all the golfing opportunities she will have in her new location.
- After completing her epilepsy fellowship, Mary Medlin (’04 resident, ’05 fellow) has moved across the country to start a private practice position in Washington state. In addition to practicing neurology, she plans to continue her cycling training and pursuit of the yellow jersey.
- Shane Maxwell (’05) has signed on for another year. Unfortunately for the neurology department, he will be switching to the department of anesthesia to complete a one year pain fellowship. We can’t wait to call him for a consult!
- Lisa Hobson-Webb (’05) has accepted a position as a neuromuscular fellow at Duke. She will start her training in July of 2005.
- The class 2004 has started their fellowships! Cecile Becker is doing an EMG fellowship here at Wake Forest, and Mary Medlin also stayed at Wake Forest for further training in epilepsy. Allison Chan is studying sleep medicine at Stanford, and Shehzad Choudry is doing a pain fellowship at Duke.
- After completing their fellowships, the class of 2003 has moved on to the real world! Jim Bavis studied sleep medicine at the Cleveland Clinic and and is now joining a practice in Ohio. Andrea Rinn finished her sleep medicine fellowship at Wake Forest and is joining a practice in Charlotte, NC. Jason Rosenberg did a pain management fellowship at Wake Forest and is joining a practice in Pawley’s Island, SC. Belinda Zhang studied epilepsy at Wake Forest and is now joining the faculty of the Department of Neurology at Wake Forest.
- Cecile Becker (’04) had her first child, Mathijs, on September 24th 2003.
