The Roena B. Kulynych Center Memory Assessment Clinic aims to provide high quality, compassionate care in the early evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of memory disorders in older adults. Our Assessment Clinic is led by geriatricians who emphasize the whole person and the integration of treatment and care planning into the context of co-existing chronic disease as well as family/caregiver needs.
What We Do
Our Center is both a patient care and research clinic. We have a specialized team of experts in the diagnosis and treatment of memory disorders which includes Geriatric Medicine faculty and fellows, pharmacists, and neuropsychological evaluators. Patients will undergo a comprehensive medical interview, physical examination, and standardized evaluation of memory and thinking abilities. Information is also obtained from family members/caregivers. After reviewing the results of the evaluation, the team will meet with the patient and family to discuss the results and offer specific recommendations. The appointment usually lasts 3-4 hours.
Who We Serve
We offer a comprehensive assessment to older adults who are concerned about changes in their memory and to those with mild-to-moderate memory impairment desiring a second opinion. Our Clinic encourages early evaluation of memory complaints to determine if changes in memory are due to normal aging, treatable medical conditions, or dementias such as Alzheimer's disease. |
