Heart Transplant Program
The Heart Transplant Program at Wake Forest Baptist has been a vital medical resource serving the north and northwest regions of the state since its inception in 1988. The Heart Transplant team is committed to serving the 2.5 million residents throughout the region in providing state-of-the-art treatment for advanced cardiac disease.
Patients enrolled and followed in heart transplant programs typically live within 2 hours of the transplant center and regular follow-up is mandatory. Therefore, maintaining a strong Heart Transplant Program at Wake Forest Baptist is a priority.

To support area heart failure and heart transplant patients, Wake Forest Baptist has established a Congestive Heart Failure and Heart Transplant program with a team in place to provide care before, during and after surgery.
