Recent data from the National Registry of Myocardial Infarction show that patients who are transferred, in the United States and especially in North Carolina, have delays to reperfusion treatment that are unacceptably long (~180 minutes). During this hands-on workshop you will act out scenarios in the simulation lab which will help to increase your confidence and time when treating the STEMI patient.
• Perform the critical skills for management of a ST elevation in a myocardial infarction patient.
• Define how to incorporate learned knowledge of critical skills into your clinical practice; thus decreasing the door to transfer time of the patient.

Faculty:
Stephanie Starling-Edwards, RN, BSN, WFUBMC Heart Center Outreach Coordinator, Winston-Salem Regional RACE Coordinator
Ricky Harold, RN, BSN, NREMT-P, WFUBMC Emergency Department and Transport Services Educator

Target Audience: EMTs, paramedics, nurses, nurse refresher students
and any other interested health professional.
