Smoke-Free Contract
Many of our patients have quit smoking. As one patient stated, " I was up to two and a half packs a day. One day the cardiac rehab group had a stop smoking campaign. Something they told me clicked. I threw my cigarettes away. After the first three days, I felt better and was glad I did it."
The decision to quit smoking and your success often depends how much you want to quit smoking. Any one can quit. It does not matter about age, health or lifestyle. But, quitting is hard. Usually, people make two or three tries, or more, before finally being able to quit. Each time you try, you will have learned more about what helps and what hurts.
Putting it in writing helps you to maintain the commitment to quit. Fill in the following contract to yourself:
