| George W. Plonk, Jr., MD. Associate Professor Vascular Surgery Publications | I am an Associate Professor of Surgery and earned my M. D. degree from The Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in 1973. My interest includes general peripheral vascular surgery: aortic and aortic branch surgery, upper and lower extremity revascularization, and extra cranial carotid disease. I primarily do open procedures and leave most of the endovascular surgery to my younger partners.
I feel we have a very diverse and strong vascular program. We also have a state of the art vascular lab, which I am involved with. I have been on the faculty here for over 25 years. I have found this to be a delightful place to work and live. People, for the most part are very friendly. The faculty and house staff gets along very well with each other.
