Gastrointestinal Surgery

The Digestive Health Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center opened in February, 2004. The new facility features streamlined scheduling procedures, an expanded gastrointestinal surgery staff, and reduced waiting times for elective procedures -- as well as state-of-the art gastrointestinal surgery equipment and increased patient privacy.

The Digestive Health Center's highly qualified and experienced gastrointestinal surgery staff uses the region's most advanced equipment and procedures to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal diseases. These are some of the gastrointestinal surgery procedures available at the Center:

· Capsule Endoscopy

· Colonoscopy

· EGD (Upper Endoscopy)

· Electrogastrography

· ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography)

· Esophageal and Anorectal Manometry

· Esophageal 24-hour pH Study

· EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound)

· Sigmoidoscopy
