
Salary
HO-I: $43,000 HO-II: $44,000 HO-III: $45,000
Vacation
All Family Medicine residents are guaranteed three weeks of vacation per year and receive an additional three-to-four days off either over the Christmas or New Year's holiday.
Moving Expenses
First-year residents are given a $400 moving allowance.
CME Allowance
A palm pilot or a $100 textbook allowance is given to all first-year residents. Second-year residents each receive one week off and $500 to pursue CME opportunities. This amount is increased to $600 and one week for continuing education in the third year.

Practice Search
Each third-year resident is allowed at least one additional week off to investigate future practice opportunities.
AAFP, NCAFP Membership
Residents have free access to all facilities on the Wake Forest University campus. Discounted memberships are also available at the local YMCA and The Medical School Fitness Center, which opened in 1990.
Insurance
Life insurance is effective 90 days after appointment equal to annual salary rounded to nearest $1,000. No Charge.
Hospitalization insurance is effective the date of appointment. For an individual policy, the resident pays 14% of the total premium and the hospital pays the remainder. For a parent and child or family policy, the resident pays 35% of the premium and the hospital pays the remaining portion.
Each resident is provided with disability insurance for the years of training.
Malpractice insurance is provided to cover assigned supervised activities of each house officer's residency training. (Other activities such as moonlighting are not covered under this policy.)
Employee Health
Free immunological tests and x-rays provided. Sick call is between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM Monday-Friday. Emergencies are seen at any time. During non clinic hours, house officers should report to the Emergency Department. Visits are recompensable by insurance provided.
Other
On call and post call meals are provided as well as white coats with laundry service.
