Winston-Salem is North Carolina’s fourth largest city with a population of ~220,000 (county population of 340,000). It is located in the “Piedmont Triad” area of NC which is only 1 ½ hours from the mountains, with snow skiing available in the winter, and only 4 hours from the beautiful NC beaches.
