2008 Research Banquet Award Winner

Brad Crosby, MD won the “James E. Byrum, Jr., MD Academic Excellence Award” at our department's eighth annual research banquet held on 4/9/2008 for his project titled "Outcome of patients discharged from the ED after an episode of severe hypertension (BP > 180/110)". Brad and family will receive a rent free one week stay at Dr. Byrum’s Outer Banks beach house (see below) as a prize.
Dr. Byrum was one of our EM residency's first faculty members and has taught every emergency medicine resident that has ever trained in our program to date. He has been an influential person in the lives of hundreds of practicing emergency physicians across our country. Dr. Byrum retired from full-time EM practice July 2007 after 34 years of service.
