Physician Assistants
Department Of Cardiothoracic Surgery

The five members of the Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant Group at Wake Forest University School of Medicine have over 94 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery. This experience includes first and second assisting; latest techniques in vein harvesting, endoscopic and minimally invasive; radial artery harvesting, both open and minimally invasive; preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care; and clinical follow up after discharge.

The group is involved in teaching residents, medical students, physician assistants, and nursing students. The group is supportive of physician assistant associations and medical societies, which include the following:

American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiovascular Surgery (APACVS).
North Carolina Association of Physician Assistants (NCAPA).
American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants (AASPA).
Piedmont Association of Physician Assistants (PAPA).
North Carolina Medical Society.
