Hematology

The Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University is a leader in hematology and discovering the causes and treatments of blood disorders. Because blood is essential to human function, the science of hematology profoundly affects the understanding of many diseases. The principal issues of hematology are:

· Anemia: low hemoglobin or red blood cells

· Thrombosis: excess blood clotting
