Cell and Virus Vector Core Lab

 

The Cell and Virus Vector Core Laboratory provides a variety of sterile cell culture media, sera and growth supplements, antibiotics, buffer solutions, animal and human cell lines, virus vectors and stocks. In addition, the CVVCL provides customized technical assistance on a variety of protocols.

  • Repository of transformed secondary and continuos cell strains and lines
  • Isolation and establishment of primary cells in tissue culture
  • Cryopreservation of tissue culture cells
  • Mycoplasma testing of cell lines and contamination removal
  • Expansion of tissue culture cells for large-scale experiments
  • Production of large quantities of virus vectors
  • DNA Cloning
  • Molecular characterization of recombinant DNA
  • Purification of plasmid DNA

  • Technical assistance for development and implementation of new customized protocols
  • Cytotoxicity assay (neutral red staining)
