Take Advantage of State-of-the-Art Lung Cancer Treatment at Wake Forest Baptist

The multidisciplinary thoracic oncology clinic at Wake Forest Baptist maximizes collaboration between specialists in lung cancer treatment. We also offer the latest options for patients with other malignancies of the chest, including carcinoid tumor, thymoma, and mesothelioma treatment plans.

Wake Forest Baptist’s Comprehensive Cancer Center stands out in our region as well. We are the only cancer center in the state of North Carolina to offer extracranial stereotactic body radiosurgery – the equivalent of six weeks of radiation therapy delivered in just two weeks. And our thoracic oncology program is actively involved in all aspects of lung cancer treatment – from innovative treatments to research to teaching. No other program in the region shares this mission. Plus, backed by a roster of the leading researchers, we are able to offer pioneering mesothelioma treatment plans.

From the Best Mesothelioma Treatment Options to Help for Cancer Survivors, We Stand Out as Leaders in Cancer Care

Patients who come to our Comprehensive Cancer Center can take advantage of lung cancer or mesothelioma treatment plans that include combinations of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. This novel strategy greatly improves a patient’s chance of long-term survival.

In addition, we were among the first in the nation to address the emotional and psychological impact of living with cancer. Our Comprehensive Cancer Center offers a wide array of industry-recognized support programs to lung cancer treatment patients and their families. A vast array of clinical trials, an appearance boutique on campus, counseling, and support groups are all ways that we help enhance our patients’ quality of life.
