Name: Steven D. Creacy
E-Mail: screacy@wfubmc.edu Advisor/Lab: Dr. James P. Vaughn Education: BA Biology, University of Virginia Current Research: In the lab of Dr. Vaughn and in collaboration with Dr. Akman, I am studying a novel helicase enzyme called G4 Resolvase (G4R1). This enzyme specifically recognizes G4 structures in DNA and RNA and unwinds them. Evidence is building that G4R1 is important in embryonic development and cancer Honors and Awards: 1st place, 2003 Cancer Biology Department Annual Retreat Presentations. Hobbies – other: guitar, viola, singing, electronics, computers, audio-visual, classical liberal philosophy, Austrian economics, anything to do with how things work and other geekyness.
