Current Research:   In the lab of Dr. Vaughn and in collaboration with Dr. Akman, I am studying a novel helicase enzyme called G4 Resolvase (G4R1).  This enzyme specifically recognizes G4 structures in DNA and RNA and unwinds them.  Evidence is building that G4R1 is important in embryonic development and cancer
