Metheny-Barlow Current Research: I am working on the hypothesis that tumor cells can alter junctional contacts between endothelial cells and mural cells via degradation or inactivation of Cx43 (which is a gap junction protein). This might prevent mural cells from exerting a growth inhibitory effect on endothelial cells and promote tumor angiogenesis. Publications: 1.
