Wound Care Coordinator ~ Unit Based Educator
The WCC/UBE works with burn patients in the unit as well as those burn patients located elsewhere in the facility. They provide coordination of wound care management of patients through collaboration with physicians, assess wound healing, make treatment recommendations and initiate treatment for the burn injury. The WCC/UBE assists with patient teaching and discharge needs and participates in the multidisciplinary team conference.
The WCC/UBE also coordinates and implements clinical educational activities based on unit specific needs. They collaborate with staff development to ensure educational resources for staff are available and assist with the orientation process of the burn unit staff.
