Their responsibilities include early splinting and positioning, providing range of motion exercises and activities to restore the patient's level of independence, and scar management. Occupational therapists also work with burn victims on tasks that assist them in returning to their pre-injury activities. Some patients will continue to see occupational therapists after leaving the hospital.
