Masters Program in Bioethics at Wake Forest Univeristy

Prospective Students

  • Program Structure

The MA degree requires 30 hours of work: 24 hours of course work with an average grade of B or above plus 6 hours of thesis research.  All work must be completed within six years of the date of initial enrollment in the graduate program.  It will be possible to meet these requirements in one academic year, plus a summer term for completion of the thesis.

Both traditional and non-traditional thesis proposals will be considered to fulfill the thesis requirement.  Non-traditional proposals may include, for example, preparation of  bioethics manuscripts suitable for publication in journals in the student’s primary field, and internship or practicum placements with final analytical report.

Courses are offered in the late afternoon and evening each semester to allow students either to complete the program in one year or to complete the program on a part-time basis while working.
