Mission Statement…

The Department of Anesthesiology of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Wake Forest University, in order to better serve the Medical Center, community, state and nation, formally adopts the following Mission Statement.

We, in the Department of Anesthesiology, resolve:

To deliver exemplary, cost-effective patient care. To that end, the department will employ vigilant physicians who accept the clinical and academic challenges of providing compassionate treatment for patients while teaching students of varied skill and ability.

To offer a standard of education unsurpassed at the national level. This educational program will foster a supportive, close-knit relationship among faculty, residents and students. Its goal is the complete physician, well-rounded in clinical, intellectual and interpersonal skills and fully qualified to become a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology.

To create an environment that promotes outstanding research which will increase knowledge and improve patient care. This environment will support the recruitment of motivated faculty of the highest caliber and sustain their personal development within the department.
