The Department of Urology
Where Knowledge Makes All the Difference

The Wake Forest Baptist Department of Urology brings together the best of patient care and research, offering knowledge you can trust and the availability of next-generation treatments to patients of all ages

Highlights of our practice include:
● Ranked as one of the “Best Hospitals” in the nation for urolologic care by U.S. News and World Report (2008.)
● One of a few practices in the nation to offer clinical studies of laboratory-engineered bladders for children with spina bifida and for adults with overactive bladder.
● Our kidney stone specialists helped write the treatment guidelines that are used by urologists nationwide.
● We specialize in minimally invasive procedures, including robotic surgery. One of our physicians is a world pioneer in the technology and developed the procedures used by surgeons nationwide.
● If your diagnosis is cancer, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that our urologists have additional training in oncology and work as a team with specialists in medical oncology, radiation oncology and interventional radiology from Wake Forest Baptist’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – one of only 38 in the nation.
● One of a few practices in the state using a new video technology to diagnose the exact cause of incontinence – so your treatment can be tailored to your condition.
● Our pediatric urology practice is the largest between Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
