General Internal Medicine Education
messick with residents no border

Within the Section of General Internal Medicine, there is an emphasis on evidence-based General Internal Medicine practice.  For residents, this emphasis includes weekly GIM conferences (Wednesdays 1 PM) and periodic workshops and seminars.

In addition to working with General Internal Medicine residents, faculty members are integral to the Medical School curriculum in all years of undergraduate experience.

Medical Students

The Wake Forest University Medical School is an integrated program; students are exposed to our faculty throughout the four years of their training. For more information on applying or transferring to the Medical School, access the school’s website.

Residents

“We are committed to training effective clinicians who are imbued with respect for patients and colleagues; who practice medicine with unquestionable professionalism; who appreciate honest communication; and who possess an innate curiosity to know more and a desire to pursue answers”-
Peter R. Lichstein, M.D.
