Maria P. McGee, M.D., Research Associate Professor of Internal Medicine-Rheumatology.

Dr. McGee received her degree from the Medical School of Granada University, Spain, where she was an intern student in the Department of Biochemistry and Physiology.  She received postdoctoral training in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine.  Her research interest is in cell-mediated inflammation with emphasis on the biology of monocytes and macrophages.  Current projects include studies on the structure/function relationships of membrane proteases and on the modulation of these proteases by extracellular matrix components.
