Scheduling Appointments

Appointments will be scheduled by your physician or medical provider.

HealthCare Providers: If you would like to refer a patient to be considered for a Rheumatology appointment in our clinic, please complete the  New Patient Referral Form  and fax it to 336-716-9821 along with the patient’s last two – three clinic notes and a copy of their insurance information. After our physician has reviewed the information above, one of our office staff will contact you.

If you have any questions, please contact our office at 336-716-4209. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cancellations

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please call 336-716-4209 no later than 48 hours prior to your appointment. This will allow us to use this time to care for another patient.

Patients who consistently miss appointments without cancelling may be dropped from the Clinic’s active patient list.

Clinic Visits

Clinic visits are by appointment only. A referral from your primary care physician is required to be seen by our Rheumatologists. This will assure that patients receive appropriate follow-up.

We ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment. If you are 15 minutes late, we may have to reschedule your appointment. Your first visit will include a thorough assessment appropriate to your particular problem. Copies of recent x-rays, laboratory tests, and other relevant medical records will be helpful, if available, during this initial visit. When you return for follow-up, you will be scheduled to see the same physician or physician and nurse clinician whenever possible. If your doctor is unavailable for urgent problems, other doctors/nurse clinicians in our practice have access to your medical record and can provide care as needed.

Primary Care

We anticipate working closely with your primary care physician (Family Practitioner or Internist), and will send copies of laboratory results, X-rays, and records as requested. Since we are a specialty clinic, we will not be managing primary care problems.

Prescription Refills

Prescription refill requests are taken during office hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We have an automated telephone system to assist you in leaving messages for refills and for new prescriptions. Please call 336-716-4209.

Please contact your pharmacist to verify that your prescription has been called into the pharmacy and is ready for collection.

We do not refill prescriptions prescribed by other physicians.

If you haven’t been seen by our physician within the last six months, you must schedule a follow-up visit prior to prescription refill. We want to make sure that the medication is properly dosed and that your health hasn’t changed.

Please plan accordingly when requesting refills on pain medications. We cannot refill pain medications after office hours or during the weekend.

Messages
