Areas of research in the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology include substance abuse, neurodegenerative disorders, psychiatric illness, pediatric development and pharmacology, perinatal, cardiovascular, neuropsychiatric disorders, cognitive behavior, molecular neuroscience, substance abuse, psychiatric illness, cellular protection and aging.

The foundation for graduate and postdoctoral training is individually directed research opportunities in over four dozen laboratories with active investigative programs.
