Electives

Electives

Six months of elective time is available to each resident and can be filled by anything from spending time at a private hospital such as Forsyth Hospital in Winston-Salem, to visiting another pathology residency program for in-depth study with a particular pathologist, to research activities. Many residents use this time to refresh their knowledge base by repeating a rotation they did early in their residency.

A rotation in neuropathology is available to those who are interested.

Residents may use elective time at any point after they have completed the first 18 months of their program.
