Stipend And Benefits

The annual stipend for the first-year fellow will be approximately $45,000 and increases approximately 3-5% per year.  Benefits include professional liability insurance, medical insurance/hospitalization, life insurance, disability insurance, lab coats, duplicating services, and paid sick leave.  In addition, the trainee receives three weeks of paid vacation per year and an additional week to be used to attend meetings or participate in other scholarly activities.

Participation in national Allergy/Immunology meetings is an expectation, and an annual stipend of $1,200 per fellow is provided to defray costs for the fellow to present his/her original research findings at these meetings.

The fellows have individual desktop computers in their dedicated office space, as well as one shared printer.  These computers have access to the electronic patient records, word processing, PowerPoint, internet access, as well as access to the Coy Carpenter Library of WFUBMC with its multiple resources (Up-to-Date, OVID, electronic journals and textbooks, etc).
A laptop dedicated to the Allergy/Immunology Fellowship is also available.

Multiple textbooks, CD-ROMs, allergen pollen slides, etc., are available in the fellows office area.
