Dr. James E. Smith’s lifelong dedication to education and his commitment to preparing graduate students and young professionals for careers in research have long been hallmarks of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. His artful mentorship and expert training have endeared him to graduate students, post docs, fellows, young professionals and peers alike. In tribute to the many contributions Dr. Smith has made to the Department and to graduate education at the Medical School, gifts may be made to the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in his honor.
Our intent is to establish a named endowed Graduate Student Award by reaching the minimum threshold of $25,000 to endow such a fund.
If gifts do not reach the minimum of $25,000, the fund will not be endowed and will not be available to support junior scientists in the Department.
