KAS Meeting Minutes
August 27, 2004
A KAS meeting was held at Victoria Hall on August 27th, 2004. The members of the Classes of 2005 and 2006 were in attendance. President Patrick Bowden presided over the meeting and the following announcements were made:
- Habitat for Humanity build on Saturday Aug. 28th…see Pam for more details
- “Legs for Life” is scheduled for Sept. 11th at Forsyth Medical Center and for Statesville. This is required for Class of 2005, but anyone else can participate.
- Tonya Stancil requests financial support of her participation in the AIDS Walk in Raleigh.
- Fall Start 5K – Sept. 18th at Tanglewood Park. Proceeds to KAS and to Super Kids Program of the W-S Police Dept. Details are available on our website. Volunteers are greatly needed for various jobs that morning. Please contact John or Kelly Wood or David Bennett or Ricky Lotspeich to sign up.
- Class party on Sat. August 28th. Directions will be distributed. For details, contact Andy Shirlen.
- Scrapbook pictures are needed or even negatives….send to Sally Styers.
- David Bennett attended the NCAAPA meeting in Myrtle Beach this month. He stressed the importance of getting involved at the local, state and national level. There are quarterly state meetings that are open to students. An email will be sent out notifying everyone of location and date of next meeting.
Also, start planning now to attend the National Conference in Orlando, Fla. Next June. Details at http://www.saaapa.aapa.org/
