Information on Lodging and Dining


The Hawthorne Inn and Conference Center at 420 High Street is owned by North Carolina Baptist Hospitals. To reach it, take the Cherry Street exit from Business 40.

The Hawthorne Inn offers:

  • Special discount rates for Medical Center patients, families and guests
  • Complimentary continental breakfasts
  • Customized meals to accommodate specific patients
  • Free shuttle vans to Medical Center
  • The Bayberry Restaurant, which seats 100
  • 160 guest rooms
  • Full-service conference center

Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House is a "home away from home" for families of pediatric inpatients and outpatients (18 and younger) from outside Forsyth County receiving medical care in the area. A $5 donation is requested per family per night for one room, which includes kitchen privileges. If this charge presents a hardship, guests may discuss other payment arrangements with the manager. No one is turned away because of inability to pay. Ronald McDonald House is on Hawthorne Road down the street from The Medical Center. Click here for more information.

Dining

Nearby are a variety of traditional restaurants and fast-food establishments. The Bayberry Restaurant at The Hawthorne Inn and several locations in the Medical Center offer pleasant and convenient dining, including the Medical Center's new, full-service, 900-seat cafeteria.

         Main Cafeteria: Ardmore Tower, Main Floor
Hot entrees, sandwiches, salad bar, fresh bakery products
Hours, seven days a week:
Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Late hours, 12:30 a.m. - 3 a.m. The dining area is open 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. When the main serving area is closed, food and bakery products may be purchased from the Carte Cafe inside the dining area.

         Deli: Watlington Hall, Ground Floor
Breakfast items, fresh sandwiches, salads, bagels, muffins, frozen yogurt
Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

         Pizzeria: West Building, Ground Floor
Personal pan pizza, bread sticks, salads, frozen yogurt
Hours: Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

         Vending Machines: Reynolds Tower, Main Floor; West Building, Ground Floor; Outpatient Comprehensive Cancer Center, 2nd floor. 
Snacks, beverages
Seven days a week, 24 hours a day
