 General Obstetrics and Gynecology

A general obstetrician/gynecologist is a doctor who is trained to care for a woman’s total health, including general care, pregnancy, gynecologic problems, and reproductive health care. In addition, some physicians in our group focus on particular areas, such as alternatives to traditional hysterectomy. Through our group of all-female doctors, you may explore less invasive treatments for fibroids, bleeding, or other gynecologic problems. We offer a wide range of medical treatments including pregnancy care, contraceptive counseling, menopausal care, and treatments for abnormal bleeding or pelvic pain.

As leaders in our field, we pride ourselves on offering individualized, state of the art care for problems affecting women in all stages of life, from adolescence to menopause. Many of our patients are seeking alternatives to traditional hysterectomy. Our highly skilled female surgeons are thrilled to offer these women less invasive options such as endometrial ablation and laparoscopic hysterectomy, also known as “band-aid” hysterectomy. These alternatives offer women less pain, easier recovery, and a quicker return to their normal activities.

Whether you are pregnant, just need your annual well woman exam or have a specific concern related to your gynecologic health, we would be glad to offer you the best in general obstetric and gynecologic care through our team of all women doctors. Please call 716-4039 to set up an appointment at one of our convenient Winston-Salem or Kernersville locations. We look forward to making sure you get the individualized care you deserve.

The Section on General Obstetrics and Gynecology is pleased to welcome our newest faculty member, Dr. Oona K. O'Neill.
