Location of facility:
Bowman Gray Technical Center, Room 101

Laboratory purpose:
To make accessible to appropriately trained investigators equipment for applying modern analytical ultracentrifugation technology to their individual research problems. Technical training is also available for interested users.

Laboratory capabilities:
Data collection and analysis for sedimentation velocity and sedimentation equilibrium studies (analyses of macromolecular size and shape and intermolecular interactions).

Instrumentation:

• Optima XL-A analytical ultracentrifuge with absorbance optics
• Computer workstation and software for data analysis
• Automated viscosity measurement system
