The laboratory is a collaboration between the Department of Physical Therapy in Winston-Salem State University’s School of Health Sciences and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. 

The video, titled “Physical Evaluation of Hip Pain in Non/Pre-Arthritic Patient and Athlete,” was shot by Will Safrit, the video and multimedia producer from Wake Forest Baptist’s Creative Communications Department. It will be shown during the AAOS annual meeting to be held in March in New Orleans, will be designated an award winner in the Orthopaedic Resource Catalog and will be included in the AAOS Orthopaedic Surgery Video Library.

Others who participated in the development of the video include Ben Long, manager of the lab and physical therapy instructor from WSSU, and, from Wake Forest Baptist, orthopaedic resident Adam Anz, M.D., medical student Stephanie Cheetham, pediatric orthopaedic surgeon John Frino, M.D., orthopaedic surgeon Allston Stubbs, M.D., and Martin Tanaka, Ph.D. (Biomedical Engineering), an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and co-director of the laboratory.
