HealthFinder.gov - From the US Department of Health & Human Services, consumers can not only check on diseases, but locate information on medicare/medicaid, hospice programs, long term care, check-ups, and more. http://healthfinder.gov/.
Lab Tests Online - A site developed by clinical laboratory professionals to help consumers understand lab tests they may need to have as part of their diagnosis and treatment. http://www.labtestsonline.org/.
Medem - Founded by the American Medical Association, Medem has information by disease, life stage/gender/age, has tools for creating a health record, and special health topic links. http://medem.com/medlb/medlib_entry.cfm.
The National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases - Covers information related to diabetes, digestive and kidney diseases and disorders and most are within in low literacy reading levels. http://www.niddk.nih.gov/.
National Institute of Arthritis & Musculoskeletal Diseases - Many of the health topics are written for lower reading levels, and some of the information is available in Spanish. http://www.niams.nih.gov/hi/index.htm.

National Center for Farmworker Health - Patient education materials particular to the needs and interest of farmworkers, especially seasonal. There is not a lot of information, but all is available in either English or Spanish. Patient/Family Education Materials From A-Z - Developed by the Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis, many of their handouts are available in Spanish and Hmong.
